They tell you to be everything that you want to be, but then they make it nearly impossible for anyone to get their toes in, let alone the foot!! I just want to be me and that, to me, means being a successful musician. Now if only society's measure of success could be something other than the mighty dollar $ign...
I am grateful that I still managed to accomplish quite a bit, despite having lost some of my best years to my "handicap", my addiction... Somehow I've always been very determined and driven even though everything is so difficult and at times it seems everything is stacked against us in achieving any of our goals. Telling an obstinate man like me that something is impossible and that I "can't" do it, only serves to make me fight even harder to do it!!!
