This one was directly influenced by my father's music. I grew up watching him perform on TV sets or concert halls. From the begining he was my hero. I looked up to him and admired how he could charm an audience and took them for a ride inside his poetic world, making it all seem so easy... His stage name was Jacques Antonin, he was on Barclay Records and was a very influential artist from Quebec. I can never fully explain the impact he had on my life and just how influential he was to my musical taste. My great sense of melody; my love of beautiful lyrics, my grand orchestrations, the way I connect emotionally with my audience, my tireless work ethic, my determination and the belief in my own talent and capabilities... This man literally gave me wings, as he so eloquently sang in one of his songs about me (A song I cannot listen to without shedding a tear.) My dad was the most severely victimized person by my death dance with miss cocaine, after me, of course... I am definitely guilty of having aged him well before his time... And I will take that guilt with me, to the grave. So for this beautiful song I took 2 separate musical parts: The verse and the pre-chorus from my dad's "Avec Les Années" & "L'Amour a Mal Aux Nerfs", then I added my own chorus and new lyrics. It's about my relationship with darling Rachel, when we had just met and our love was still wet and shiny and brand new...
