Instrumental I used to be quite proud of. We played it faster in concert and that was more impressive. Younger musicians always feel the need to show off their technical proficiency on their instrument. Then one day you learn that it's just vocabulary. It's pointless reciting a bunch of complicated words really quick. It's more efficient to use the RIGHT words to touch your listener and convey emotion instead. For this you don't need a lot of words, FUCK OFF! will have a greater impact than seeing a guy communicate with his instrument instead of the audience. We used to have quite a big show with platforms, a giant tree and a 40 foot long logo behind us. Guitars were wireless... We were like a big band, not a club band..
